7. Adjust the span value to the appropriate level as specified on the span gas bottle. Apply the span
gas and calibration cup. It is recommended to apply gas for 180 seconds prior to adjustment.
Once the reading is stable, press the keypad enter button to save the span adjustment.

5.6 Response Test
The response test measures the time taken for the detector to reach 90% of the target gas
concentration. The response test may trigger alarms and setpoints and operational procedures should
be in place prior to undertaking a response test.
The following procedure minimises the delays and errors associated with inconsistent application of gas
while measuring the response time. The procedure applies a sharp and repeatable step change in gas
concentration, to reduce the effects of flow rate and delays associated with purging the calibration cup
and tubing.
Ensure that the device does not have a fault and that the Calibration Cup is not attached to the GG2
Detector.
