3.5.1 Guidance on Snapshot Setup for ABT/S
Thermometer Set up
•
Select the ABT/S from the thermometer type list
•
Set desired emissivity (0.95 is adequate in most cases)
Snapshot Configuration (from the System Configuration Menu)
•
Select the single or multi-channel snapshot display type.
•
Estimate the time taken for the longest billet in use to pass the optic
head and select the shortest interval length that can accommodate this.
•
Set temperature range (320°C to 520°C is a good initial set up)
•
The number of pre-trigger samples, up to 25%, can be set if desired
(the complete interval comprises 150 samples). In the ABT/S application
there is usually no information in the pre-trigger period, so this serves
only to improve the readability of the display.
