3.3 Sensor
The 4750-PM backscatter sensor comprises the electronics and optical
components (including a laser module and photodiode detector) required to
illuminate particles in the stack with laser light to detect and measure the
amount of back-scattered light. The 4750-PM is a standalone sensor, either
mains powered or receiving 24 V DC from a local source. The sensor has a
large internal four-digit display and user control buttons, the sensor display
has two status indicators for monitoring the sensor status. The hinged sensor
body allows easy cleaning and is convenient when performing manual audit
checks.
