Chapter 2. Configuration
Templates
The UCT software allows you to save certain configuration settings in a
template on your computer for the unit you are currently configuring.
You can then apply the template to another unit of the same type. After
applying a template, use the UCT software to change or configure other
settings as needed.
The following configuration settings are stored in the template:
input channel configuration (all input channels)
transmission schedule
For example, if you are working with several units, save configuration
settings in a template for one of the units (
Tools > Advanced >
Template > Save to Template
) and then apply the template later to
other units you want to configure with the same settings (
Tools >
Advanced > Template > Load from Template
). After applying the
template, use the UCT software to change or configure other settings as
needed.
When you save a template, by default the UCT software saves the file in
the Windows My Documents folder. You can save the template in a
different folder on your computer using either the
Save To Template
command available on the
Advanced > Template
menu or the
Folder
for log files
command available on the
Tools > Options
menu. The
UCT software assigns a default filename to the template using the name
of that particular unit type. If you decide to rename the template, make
sure the template uses the “.bht” file extension
For instructions about how to load or save a template, refer to the
page 32. For instructions about how to choose a folder on your computer
to store configuration templates and log files, refer to the section
entitled
Choosing a Folder for Log Files
Event Log
An entry is added in the Event Log each time configuration settings are
saved. The most recent entry is added to the end of the file. Entries are
separated with a line and include a date stamp and a list of configuration
settings. You can also add your own notes in the Event Log to help
document configuration changes by typing the information directly in the
file. After making changes, save the Event Log and then print the file if
you want to maintain records for your units.
Complete the following steps to view, edit, or print the Event Log:
