Chapter 2. Configuration
Loading a Template
Configuration templates can be created to easily configure multiple,
similar units. If a template is available, you can load a template before
configuring the unit. If no template is available, you can create one after
configuring a unit. See
on page 32 for details.
The following procedure explains how to configure a unit using
configuration settings that have previously been saved in a template. The
configuration template must include settings for the same unit type as the
unit type you plan to configure. If you are not using a template to
configure a unit, skip this section and continue with
After selecting a unit to configure from the
window,
complete the following steps to load a configuration template:
1.
Click
Tools
>
Advanced
>
Template
>
Load from Template
.
2.
When the
Open Template
window appears, navigate to the folder
that contains the configuration template.
3.
Select the template and click
Open
.
A status window displays as the UCT software applies
configuration settings.
4.
After configuration settings have been applied to the unit, press
F2
to read configuration settings stored on the controller board or
click
Tools
>
Read Unit Settings
.
5.
Click
File
>
Save Current Setup in Event Log
to save
configuration settings. If needed, use the UCT software to change
settings as needed. When you finish, save configuration settings
again.
Choosing a Folder for Log Files
The following procedure explains how to choose a folder on your
computer to store configuration templates and log files, such as the Event
Log. If you decide not to choose a folder, the UCT software automatically
stores templates and log files in the folder labeled My Documents on your
computer.
Complete the following steps to select a folder for log files:
1.
Click the
Bullhorn
Configuration Toolkit
icon on your desktop
to start the UCT software, if it is not already running.
