PRIORITY MENU
The Priority menu is used to:
• Enable (or disable) user identification for passcode entry into
the system.
• Set priority levels for keyboards or users.
• Set user passcodes.
• Configure each of the eight priority levels.
Note: If USER IDS is enabled, the #2 entry in the Priority
Menu indicates “SET USER” (page 4-28).
If USER IDS is disabled, the #2 entry in the Priority
Menu indicates “SET KEYBOARD” (page 4-28).
The RETURN MAIN line of the Priority menu returns to the
Main Selection menu, page 4-2.
USER IDENTIFICATION
The User Identification menu is used to enable or disable the
system passcode entry procedure.
The System Passcode Entry Procedure allows only authorized
personnel to operate the system. The setting for USER IDS
ENABLED does not take effect until the user exits the menu
programming mode.
To Enable or Disable User Identification:
1. Move the cursor to the USER IDS ENABLED line.
2. Press the ACK key. The ACK key toggles between:
“N” for no user passcode and
“Y” for yes user passcode.
PREVIOUS MENU - Returns to the PRIORITY menu.
SYSTEM PASSCODE ENTRY
Passcode entry is used as a security procedure to allow only
authorized personnel to operate the system. To enable the
passcode security feature, set USER IDS ENABLED to “Y” in
the User Identification menu, above.
When USER IDS is enabled, the user must have a user number
and a passcode to gain control of the system through a
1678CM or 2078 keyboard. The passcode entry system allows
a maximum of 64 users with a separate passcode for each user
(see SET USER menu, page 4-28).
Passcode Logon
When the keyboard is initialized and USER IDS is enabled, the
keyboard displays the letters “UC” (Usercode) in the
CAMERA display section.
To logon with a user passcode:
1. Enter the user number (1-64).
2. Press the ACK key. The system then prompts for the
passcode by displaying “PSC”.
3. Enter the user's passcode, a maximum of six digits.
(The default passcode for user #1 is 914365.)
4. Press the ACK key.
5. If an incorrect passcode is entered a bell is sounded (if
enabled) and “UC” is displayed again. Press the CLEAR
key and repeat steps 1 through 4.
6. If the passcode verifies, dashes are displayed on the
keyboard MONITOR and CAMERA displays (-- ---). This
confirms that the keyboard is connected into the system and
that a monitor can be called to the keyboard.
The keyboard displays a series of dashes when the passcode
has been entered correctly, or UC, if the passcode was entered
incorrectly. The user passcode may be cleared by pressing
CLEAR key. The user may then re-enter the passcode.
Passcode Logoff
When the user session has completed it is advisable to log off.
To log off enter “99” on the keypad and press the “F1” key on
the keyboard.
