Standard Model Connections
The following connection instructions are for models without
Preset capability. This includes the following models:
AD1240/24 - Standard model
AD1240/24A - Standard with AutoPan
AD1240/24H - Standard with Heater
A 7-pin connector located on the rear panel of the AD1240 is
provided for Pan/Tilt control connections. On the AutoPan
and Heater models, this connector also supplies the appropriate
voltage for these functions. A mating connector assembly is
supplied for connections.
Refer to the following table and Figure 6 for the connector pin
definitions.

* For inverted mounting, these pin functions are reversed
(2 is Left, 3 is Right, 4 is Down, and 5 is Up).
** Pin 6 is the voltage supply pin for either the AutoPan
voltage (model AD1240/24A) or the Heater voltage
(model AD1240/24H). This signal must be 24VAC
±10%, with pin 1 as the AC common.
Connector Wiring and Assembly:
1. Slide parts (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5) (see Figure 7) over the
Pan/Tilt cable outer sheath.
2. Remove outer sheath 0.75" from cable end.
3. Remove each conductor insulation 0.25" from its end.
4. Solder the Pan/Tilt cable conductors to socket contacts (6).
a. The Pan/Tilt AC Common wire to P/T common pin 1.
b. The Pan Right wire to Right pin 2.
c. The Pan Left wire to Left pin 3.
d. The Tilt Up wire to Up pin 4.
e. The Tilt Down wire to Down pin 5.
f. For the AutoPan model, the AutoPan/AUX wire to
AutoPan pin 6.
or
For the Heater model, the Heater/AUX wire to Heater
pin 6.
Note: Refer to the appropriate driver or controller
manual to identify the applicable AutoPan or
Heater (AUX) wire for this connection.
5. Slide and thread the jacket (5) onto coupling ring (7).
6. Slide and thread the angle housing (4) onto jacket (5).
7. Slide the rubber gasket (3), pinch ring (2), and locking
screw (1) into the angle housing (4).
8. Screw part (1) into part (4) to ensure a good seal between
the cable and the rubber gasket (3).
Note: Attach the cable to the AD1240 using the strain relief
assembly on the bottom of the main body (page 10).
