20.12 Replacing the Valve
Before you begin:
•
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing.
•
Disconnect power supply (including battery backup) to the
fireplace and turn off gas supply.
•
Remove the fireplace surround. See
Section 16.0
.
•
Remove barrier screen (recommended). See
Section 14.0
.
•
Remove door assembly (recommended). See
Section 15.0
.
•
Remove burner media (recommended). See
Section 18.0
.
•
Remove panel set (recommended). See
Section 17.0
.
•
Disconnect venting and remove the insert from the masonry
opening
Step 1:
Unplug the wires from the valve.

Disconnect gas lines from the valve.

Remove the (4) tek screws securing the valve brackets to
the side of the fireplace.

Remove the valve brackets and fittings to install on the
new valve.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Once installed, light the fireplace and verify proper operation and flame pattern according
to
Section 20.4
and
Section 20.5
of this manual.
Step 5:
Install the fittings prior to the brackets. It may be necessary to move the brass elbows slightly to install the mounting brackets.
