12.5 Installations
12.5.1 Installing plugs to increase the row spacings
For spreading seed with wide row spacing, e.g.
maize, individual seed rows can be closed.
1. Remove the cover from the distributor head,
see section "Clean the distributor head",
page 194.
2. Seal the required seed lines in the
distributor head using the plugs (Fig. 244/1).
The assembly tool (Fig. 244/2) is used to
insert the plugs in the distributor head.

Tramline segments cannot be closed using the plugs (Fig. 244/1).
If work should be performed with closed tramline segments, close
and deactivate the respective tramline flaps (see handling
instructions 3).
3. Close and deactivate the tramline flaps.
3.1 Switch on the tramline control.
3.2 Close the tramline flaps.
3.3 Deactivate tramline segments whose flaps are to remain closed during operation, see
section "Deactivating tramline segments", page 212.
3.4 Advance the tramline counter. Open the active tramline flaps.
4. Calibrate the seed rate, see section "Calibrating the seed rate", page 134.
