TROUBLESHOOTING

SPECIFICATIONS OF AD-203

Plug Socket

General

When the Apparatus does not function properly, check the following. If you notice any phenomenon other than the following or the Apparatus cannot be troubleshot by taking the 
below-mentioned remedies, turn off the power, disconnect the power cord from the plug socket and contact our distributor or Amadana Customer Support Center.

Phenomenon

The power goes off immediately.

Cause

The power cord is not properly connected.

Remedy

Make sure that the power cord is properly connected to the 
plug socket.

The speaker emits no sound.

The volume is set to the minimum level.

Adjust the volume.

The sound stops abruptly. 

 The sleep timer has been set.

Turn on the power and play back again.

The Apparatus does not function successfully.

It was exposed to an external strong electric shock such as 
lightning or excessive static electricity.

Set the power to the standby mode and disconnect the power 
cord. Plug it back into the plug socket about 30 seconds later 
and turn on the power.

Noise is emitted by a surrounding digital or high-
frequency device.

The Apparatus is installed too close to those devices.

Install the Apparatus away from them.

The setting data such as a time is lost.

Power supply to the Apparatus has been suspended for a week 
or longer.

If power supply is suspended for a week or longer, time setting 
saved in the memory may be lost. If this is the case, set the 
time again.

The sound has been muted.

Cancel the mute function.

The sound source has not been properly selected.

Select the sound source properly.

An unacceptable CD is being played back

Check the CD type acceptable to the Apparatus and that you 
are trying to play back

CD Playback 

Phenomenon

 A specific function does not work.

Cause

An unacceptable CD is being played back.

Remedy

Check the CD type acceptable to the Apparatus and that you 
are trying to play back

Playback does not start by pressing the 
[Playback/Pause] key (stops immediately).

The CD is dirty.

Clean it.

An unacceptable CD is being played back.

Check the CD type acceptable to the Apparatus and that you 
are trying to play back

Dew was condensed on a lens because the Apparatus was relocated 
from a low-temperature place to a high-temperature one.

Leave it for an hour or so, and then, operate it again.

The CD is not recognized.

An unacceptable CD is being played back.

Eject it to check whether it is acceptable to the Apparatus.

The CD is dirty or has a foreign substance stuck to it.

Eject it to clean or remove the foreign substance.

The CD has been set inside out.

Eject it and insert it with the labeled side facing the right.

iPod Playback

Phenomenon

No sound is emitted from the speaker.

Cause

iPod is not properly connected to the iPod terminal.

Remedy

Check whether it is firmly connected to the terminal.

iPod is not properly played.
 

Software version of the iPod is too old.

Please install the most recent software version into the iPod. 
Please refer to the official website of APPLE Inc. for its download.

The sound is distorted.

The sound quality of the original sound source (MP3) is poor.

If the original sound quality is poor, distortion and noise may 
be heard more clearly through the speaker. Try a different 
sound source such as a music CD.

Remote-Control Operation

Phenomenon

The Apparatus cannot be operated with the 
remote controller.

Cause

You are trying to operate beyond a remotely controllable range.

Remedy

See “CONSTRUCTION (Page 26)” for the remotely controllable 
range.

 The remote-control signal receiver of the Apparatus is exposed 
to the direct sunshine or lighting.

Change the direction of lighting or the Apparatus.

There is an obstacle between the remote controller and the 
remote-control signal receiver of the Apparatus.

Remove the obstacle.
