9.8.2 Never Drive Demolition Tool into
the Material
(Refer to Figure 9-5.)
If the advance is too large and the hammer
is not rocked to release the dust, the demo-
lition tool will be driven into the material,
causing the tip to glow red hot and become
soft. It then could become wedged in the
hole.
9.8.3 Never Pound with the Hammer and
Demolition Tool
(Refer to Figure 9-6.)
Pounding at material with the hammer
could cause damage to the Street Hammer
and the carrier.
~
CAUTION
The Street Hammer is not designed
to lift or transport loads. This prac-
tice will damage the Street Ham-
mer.
9.8.4 Never Lift Or Transport Loads With
The Hammer
(Refer to Figure 9-7.)
9.9 Never Use In or Underwater
~
WARNING
Never use a Street Hammer under-
water. The Street Hammer is not
built for underwater use.
9.10 Precharge Chamber
The precharge chamber is located in the
cylinder head above the piston and is filled
with nitrogen. As the piston moves to its
upper most position, the nitrogen is com-
pressed. The force arising from this com-
pression is transferred to the top of the
piston and helps drive the piston down.
