Installing the AT-3624TS as a standalone device
The following procedure details how to install an AT-3624TS in a
standalone configuration.
1.
Plug one end of the power cord into the repeater and the other end into
your power outlet.
2.
Check to see that the Power indicator illuminates.
3.
Check to see that the repeater performs a self-test, temporarily
illuminating all port LEDs in sequence, beginning with port 1 and
continuing with port 2, port 3 and so forth. The self-test recurs until a
port is connected.
4.
Plug your data cables into the hub and the network.
The Link indicator for each connected port will illuminate.
If one or more of the ports are transferring data, the Activity
indicator will illuminate.
The AT-3624TS slave is now ready to serve as a non-managed standalone
device.
Installing the AT-3624TS in a non-managed hub configuration
The following procedure details how to install a sample rackmount
configuration in a non-managed hub configuration. This example is based
on the following assumptions:
❑
You are working with a two-slot rackmount chassis
❑
You will populate both slots in the chassis
❑
You will be working with two Slaves (NO Master or Backup)
1.
Remove the interrepeater bus dust cover on the back panel of the
module before installing the unit in a rackmount chassis.
2.
Remove the rubber feet from the Slaves.
3.
Reinstall the screws once the rubber feet are off.
Note
After removing the rubber feet, it is important to reinstall the screws or the
module will expand. (Also see Chapter 2, “Hardware Installation” on
page 7.)
4.
Attach the mounting bracket/handle assemblies to each side of the
Slave you are installing.
5.
Plug one end of the power cord into the Slave and the other end into
your power outlet.
6.
Check to see that the Power indicators on the Slave illuminates.
