The AST570 IP router can also be combined with Classical IP
(CIP ).
Classical IP is a mature technique for creating classical IP networks
on top of ATM technology. It is widely supported by most, if not all
remote access routers.
Although not the original aim of
Classical IP it is mostly used for
connecting routers over wide area pointtopoint links.
All AST570 ' packet services can be summarized as follows:
