Figure 47: Replacing a DC PEM
To replace a DC PEM:
Step 1
Remove the new DC PEM from the packaging.
Step 2
Make sure that the switch on the PEM faceplate is in the OFF position.
Step 3
Verify that the remote power source is still OFF.
Step 4
Slide the PEM into the slot until the connectors are seated with the receptacle in the rear
of the slot.
Step 5
Secure into place by tightening the captive screws.
Step 6
Reconnect the VDC and RTN cables that are terminated with a UL-listed 2-hole lug with
1/4-inch (.635 cm) diameter holes on 3/4-inch (1.905 cm) spacing.
Step 7
Make sure that the VDC and RTN cables from each power supply is connected to separate
circuit breakers.
