Communication Cards
Communications to the BDSU system is achieved through devices called Intellislot ® cards. Unless
ordered differently, the IS-IPBMX card is a standard card and is included with all UXCM devices. Below is
a listing of the available cards.

There are two slots on the rear of the UXCM to accommodate two types of communications
simultaneously. There must be at least one card with an Ethernet connector to connect to the LAN
which will permit communications to the Battery Explorer software and alternately to a BMS system.
These cards will be packaged separately and must be installed during time of installation. The figure
below shows the rear of the UXCM and location of where these two cards are installed. Either slot can
be used if only one card is used.
Each card will have a quick start or manual associated with it and should be referenced when installing
and setting up.
