IPA3000C01
forces the IPA3000C01 to wait for a given period of time after an input error is cleared
before switching to that input. The default recovery time is two seconds. When the
IPA3000C01 is operating in a mode other than Generic DVB and with seamless
switching a recovery time greater than two seconds may be needed due to the longer
periods needed to align the transport streams in non-DVB-T modes. The recovery time
increases as the size of the buffer used increases and decreases as the bitrate of the
transport streams to be aligned decreases.
Each time that the IPA3000C01 changes the input selected the INPUT CHG. LED lights
up and the unit beeps. Also, each time that a change occurs in the error status of an
input the STAT. CHG. LED lights up and the unit beeps. These two indicator LEDs will
remain lit until the RESET button in the ALARM box is pressed.
4.3.2. Operation in semi-automatic mode
This operating mode minimizes switching. The IPA3000C01 will only switch if an error
occurs in the selected input and at least one of the other three inputs is error-free. The
error-free input with the highest priority will be selected. Priorities are set in the same
fashion as in automatic mode.
The elements within the ALARM box on the front panel operate in the same fashion as
in automatic mode.
4.3.3. Operation in manual mode
Manual mode is useful for maintenance of the installation. The user selects the input
to be used and no switching will occur even if an error occurs in that input. Input
selection is stored in non-volatile memory and is recalled in case of a power supply
failure.
Input selection in manual mode is performed with brief pulses of the SELECT
pushbutton in the MODE box on the front panel. Pressing the button cycles through
the inputs in the following order: ASI MAIN, ASI RES, IP MAIN and IP RES. If any of the
inputs are deactivated then the unit will skip that input and select the next one in
sequence. However, if the selection is done via software any input can be selected,
including inputs that are deactivated.
The elements within the ALARM box on the front panel operate in the same fashion as
in automatic mode.
