INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
I. INTRODUCTION
THE ZAC-32 ZONE ANNUNCIATOR/ CONTROLLER IS A TWO COMPONENT SYSTEM
COMPRISED OF A CENTRAL ZONE PROCESSOR AND A REMOTE DISPLAY/CONSOLE. THE
SYSTEM PROVIDES TOTAL ZONE MONITORING AND CONTROL AT A FULL FEATURED REMOTE
DISPLAY CONSOLE.
THE SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF ZONE EXPANSION IN THIRTY- TWO ZONE MULTIPLES, AN
OPTIONAL REMOTE PRINTER PROVIDES A HARD COPY OF ALL ZONE ACTIVITY BY AN
IDENTIFYING AUTHORIZED CODE NUMBER IN ADDITION TO TIME AND DATE.
THE REMOTE CONSOLE
THE REMOTE CONSOLE CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS ALL THIRTY-TWO ZONES. THE
CONDITION OF EACH ZONE IS CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON THE FUNCTIONALLY DESIGNED
CONSOLE. THE DIGITAL KEYPAD IS USED TO ALLOW AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ACCESS TO
THE SYSTEM BY AN IDENTIFYING ACCESS CODE AND TO PERFORM VARIOUS SYSTEM
FUNCTIONS.
ALL ZONE DATA AND ZONE CONTROL FUNCTIONS ARE TRANSMITTED TO THE ZONE
PROCESSOR FROM THE REMOTE CONSOLE OVER A FOUR-CONDUCTOR CABLE. UP TO
FOUR REMOTE CONSOLES CAN BE ADDED TO THE SYSTEM FOR ANNUNCIATION AND
CONTROL AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. REMOTE CONSOLES CAN BE LOCATED IN EXCESS OF
1000 FEET FROM THE ZONE PROCESSOR.
THE ZONE PROCESSOR CABINET
THE ZONE PROCESSOR CABINET CONTAINS THE SYSTEM LOGIC CIRCUITRY, POWER
SUPPLY AND STANDBY POWER SOURCE. ALL FIELD WIRING IS TERMINATED IN THE ZONE
PROCESSOR CABINET. A FOUR CONDUCTROR CABLE CONNECTS THE ZONE PROCESSOR
TO THE REMOTE CONSOLE.
