MODEL ZAC-32 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

I.   INTRODUCTION

THE ZAC-32 ZONE ANNUNCIATOR/CONTROLLER IS A TWO COMPONENT SYSTEM COMPRISED OF A CENTRAL ZONE

PROCESSOR AND A REMOTE DISPLAY CONSOLE.  THE SYSTEM PROVIDES TOTAL ZONE MONITORING AND CONTROL  

AT THE FULL FEATURED REMOTE CONSOLE.  THE SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF ZONE EXPANSION IN THIRTY-TWO ZONE

MULTIPLES.  THE REMOTE CONSOLE CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS ALL THIRTY-TWO ZONES.  THE CONDITION OF EACH 

ZONE IS CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON THE FUNCTIONALLY DESIGNED CONSOLE.   A DIGITAL KEYPAD IS USED TO ALLOW

AUTHORIZED  PERSONEL  ACCESS TO THE SYSTEM BY AN IDENTIFYING ACCESS CODE  AND TO PERFORM VARIOUS     

SYSTEM FUNCTIONS.

II.  THE ZONE PROCESSOR    

THE ZAC-32 HAS 32 ZONES.  EACH ZONE IS INDEPENDENT IN OPERATION.  WHEN A ZONE IS VIOLATED THE ZONE

INDICATOR AND THE AUDIBLE SIGNAL WILL TURN ON AND ZONE MEMORY WILL BE SET.  IF THE VIOLATED ZONE IS

RESTORED BEFORE IT IS ACKNOWLEDGED THE ZONE INDICATOR WILL REMAIN ON.

THE ZONE PROCESSOR CONTAINS A POWER SUPPLY AND RECHARGEABLE BACK-UP BATTERY.  THE AC POWER AND

BATTERY ARE MONITORED FOR FAILURE.  IF THE AC POWER IS INTERRUPTED OR THE BATTERY VOLTAGE DROPS

BELOW A SAFE LEVEL THE SYSTEM INDICATORS AND AUDIBLE SIGNAL WILL REPORT THE TROUBLE CONDITION.

WHEN AC POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED THE INDICATORS AND AUDIBLE SIGNAL WILL TURN OFF.

III.  THE REMOTE DISPLAY CONSOLE

THE REMOTE CONSOLE DISPLAYS AND CONTROLS ZONE STATUS AND SYSTEM CONDITIONS.  THE CONSOLE

CONTAINS A DIGITAL KEYPAD, ZONE SYSTEM INDICATORS AND AN AUDIBLE SIGNAL..

A. DIGITAL KEYPAD

- THE DIGITAL KEYPAD IS USED TO ACCESS AND CONTROL THE SYSTEM.

B. ZONE ANNUNCIATION

- THE ZONE INDICATORS DISPLAY COMPLETE ZONE STATUS.

FLASHING - ZONE BYPASSED, OFF -  ZONE SECURE OR IN A NON-VIOLATED CONDITION

ON - ZONE  VIOLATED OR IN ZONE MEMORY.

C. SYSTEM INDICATORS  

-  THE SYSTEM INDICATORS DISPLAY THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.

DAY MODE INDICATOR ON - ALL DAY ZONES ARE BYPASSED.  ACCESS INDICATOR ON - A

VALID CODE HAS BEEN ENTERED.  LOW BATTERY INDICATOR ON - LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE

HAS BEEN DETECTED.  POWER FAILURE INDICATOR ON

AC POWER IS OFF.

D. ANNUNCIATOR 

-               AN AUDIBLE SIGNAL SOUNDS TO INDICATE A ZONE VIOLATION, SYSTEM TROUBLE OR

WHEN A KEY IS PRESSED.

IV.  ZONE ANNUNCIATION/CONTROLLER SYSTEM OPERATION

A. ACCESS CODE 

- A FOUR DIGIT ACCESS CODE MUST BE ENTERED BEFORE ANY FUNCTION CODE WILL BE ACCEPTED.

ALL  ACCESS CODES ARE PRESET AT THE FACTORY.  A LIST OF ACCESS CODES IS INCLUDED WITH      

EACH UNIT.  LISTED BELOW IS THE PROCEDURE FOR ENTERING AN ACCESS CODE.

1.

LOAD  A VALID FOUR DIGIT ACCESS CODE.  PRESS EACH NUMBER OF THE CODE UNTIL  A BEEP

IS HEARD.

2.

PRESS THE #,(POUND), KEY TO ENTER THE CODE.

3. 

ACCESS INDICATOR TURNS ON

NOTE: AFTER 60 SECONDS ACCESS IS AUTOMATICALLY TURNED OFF.

B. FUNCTION CODES - 

THE ZONE ANNUNCIATOR/CONTROLLER HAS SIX FUNCTIONS.
