Standard Chimney Types and Designations
The collector piping should be conversely inclined with the direction of exhaust because, the con-
densing water in the piping should be drained via the condensate trap and the syphon. The system
flue piping was given in the fore-pages of the manual. As underlining, in order to be able to drain the
condensate, exhaust piping should be inclined uphill. There should exist a condensate syphon at
the lower end of the collector piping.
In a similar way, the terminal part of the exhaust gas piping which is faced with the outer atmosphere
of the building should be downwards inclined in order to prevent from rain water drainage. The slope
should be nearly 3 degrees.
