Installation and start-up
■
Because of danger of cutting injuries, do not
touch the line cutter with unprotected hands.
■
After pulling out a new line, always bring the
appliance into its normal working position be-
fore switching it on.
■
Do not use a metallic cutting line.
■
Always keep the guard plate, spool head and
motor clear of mowing residues.
■
People who are not familiar with the appli-
ance should practice handling it while the
motor is turned off.
■
When working on a slope:
■
Never work on a smooth and slippery
slope.
■
Always mow across the slope, never
down or up.
■
Always stand below the cutting device.
■
After contact with a foreign object:
■
Switch off the motor.
■
Check the machine for damage.
■
Attach the blade so that it does not loosen
and fall during operation.

INSTALLATION AND START-UP
6.1
Fitting the attachment to the basic
appliance
See "Multitool MT 42.2 – basic appliance" operat-
ing instructions.
6.2
Installing guard plate (04)
1. Push guard plate (04/1) onto cutter head
(04/2).
2. Guide screws (04/3) through the guard plate
and screw into holes (04/4).

Fitting/removing the blade (05)
WARNING! Risk of injury due to detach-
ing appliance parts.
Appliance parts detaching
during operation can lead to serious injury.

Attach the cutting tools so that they cannot
come loose during operation.
Fitting the blade
1. If fitted: Remove the spool head see
chapter
6.4 "Removing/fitting the spool head (06)",
page 20
2. Push washer (05/3) and blade (05/1) onto the
drive shaft of cutter head (05/2). The inscrip-
tion on the blade must be facing outwards,
i.e. away from the cutter head.
3. Push on cover (05/4).
4. Screw locknut (05/5) onto the drive shaft and
tighten by hand in clockwise direction.
5. Firmly tighten locknut (05/5) with the combi-
nation spanner. Use the retaining pin for
bracing.
Removing the blade
1. Loosen locknut (05/5) in anti-clockwise direc-
tion using the combination spanner. Use the
retaining pin for bracing.
2. Remove locknut (05/5), cover (05/4), blade
(05/1) and washer (05/3).

2. Push washer (06/3) onto the drive shaft of
cutter head (06/2).
3. Push on spool head (06/1) and screw tight in
clockwise direction. Use the retaining pin for
bracing.
Removing the spool head
1. Loosen spool head (06/1) in anti-clockwise
direction. Use the retaining pin for bracing.
2. Remove spool head (06/1) and washer
(06/3).

OPERATION
WARNING! Danger if assembly is not
carried out completely!
Use of an incompletely
assembled appliance can result in serious injury.

Operate the appliance only when it is fully as-
sembled!
■
Do not insert the battery into the appliance
until it is fully assembled!

Prolonging the cutting line during
operation (07)
The cutting line become shorter and frays during
operation.
