Natural Gas (NG) Fuel
• Consult your natural gas representative for pressure range availability and for assistance in the installation.
• The service line must be capable of supplying at least the minimum supply pressure at the maximum input
rate during heater operation. Refer to the heater rating plate for the rating information.
4.6. Install the Heater
This section describes the installation of the heater between the fan and grain bin duct.
Before installing:
• Ensure that the fan has adequate capacity for the heater and grain bin size.
• Ensure that the fan intake is at least 12" (305 mm) above ground to prevent it from drawing debris into the
fan and heater.
• Refer to axial fan manual for specifics concerning proper mounting configurations for the fan/heater
combination.
Heater Installation
Install the heater in a horizontal position with the burner end closest to the fan and the control box is facing
upwards in a 12 o’clock position.
Failure to install the heater and fan in the proper orientation will result in failure of safety
devices located in the heater unit. This may result in serious personal injury and property
damage and will void the warranty of the heater.
Important
•
Use the appropriate adapter plates to connect fans and heaters to transitions. AGI can provide
adapter plates - contact your dealer.
•
Do not weld on the heater, fan, or transition flanges, welding distortions can cause vibrations.
•
Use a high temperature silicone (200 °F [93 °C], minimum) for all sealing applications.
Thermostat Location
Any temperature probe(s) should be located on the bin wall underneath the floor plenum, approximately 3’ (1
m) from the right side of the transition as viewed from the heater.
