4.5. Fuel Supply
Important
•
The planning, set up, and connection to the chosen fuel supply must be done by qualified installer of
service agency. The system must include an emergency shut-off valve.
•
Refer to the heater rating decal for determining the minimum gas supply pressure for obtaining the
maximum gas capacity for which this heater is specified.
Liquid Propane (LP) Fuel
• The supply tank should have a MINIMUM capacity of 1,000 gallons (3,785 liters). Some configurations may
require a larger tank or install additional tanks in parallel if you are using multiple heaters.
• The vaporization rate of propane constantly changes according to the ambient temperature and the amount
of liquid in the tank. The following table shows the vaporization rate of a 1,000 gallon (3,785 liter) tank at
various temperatures when the tank is 25% full.

• The gas supplier will provide a tank and the connection to the heater. The gas supplier should test the
connections for leaks.
• At the owner’s discretion, a first stage liquid regulator may be included. It must be capable of 75 gph at
100 psi under flow. This item is not supplied by AGI.
• Storage tanks must be located at least 25’ (7,620 mm) from all structures, depending on local codes. Check
with the gas supplier for code specifications.
• Route the supply line in so line breakage from moving machinery is least likely. Line sizing charts have been
included in this manual. See
