The funnel folding mechanism is located on the boiler house roof.
Lightly sand top of folding mechanism base 118. Then position base
above holes in boiler house roof and install eyebolts 119.
In the centre of brass tube 120 drill brass tube wall with 1 mm and fit
tube between eyebolts.
Slide axle 121 through eyebolts and brass tube.
Levers 122 for balancing weights are
brass profiles. Three mounting holes
need to be drilled into profiles for axle
121 and for installation of balancing
weights.
See illustration for positions of holes to
be drilled. Mark positions on profiles
and drill with 1 mm.
Note:
Use a new drill bit and make
sure that holes are absolutely centred on
profile.
Glue together parts 123 A/B to form the balancing
weights. For alignment of parts insert screws 124, secure
parts with clamps, then remove screws.
Note:
Chambers 123 B of balancing weights can be filled
with metal shot, if desired.
Install balancing weights with screws 124 and nuts 92 on
brass levers 122.
Temporarily install assemblies on axle 121 by inserting
screws 125 through profile and into axle 121. Do not glue
at this point.
Note:
After installation of funnel, screws 125 will be
glued in place with a drop of general purpose adhesive.
