Commissioning and Maintenance
Cooler section
Commissioning of cooler with/without droplet eliminator
ELECTRICAL HAZARD, DANGER FROM ROTATING UNIT PARTS AND
SHARP EDGES! OBSERVE PERSONAL PROTECTION MEASURES.
In doing so, be sure to observe the safety information on page 24 and page 25.
The following commissioning steps must be carried out:
• Clean condensate tray and condensate drain.
• Fill siphon with water, see „Connecting siphon and water drains“ on page 16; the water
trap for the siphon must always correspond to the overpressure/ underpressure of the
unit as a minimum requirement.
The performance of the droplet eliminator (DE) becomes fully effective once the separating
agent is volatised following a start-up phase of approximately 4 weeks.
• Clean the droplet eliminator by rinsing it with water if necessary.
• Dust with lime if necessary.
If performance of droplet eliminator is not completely effective:
• Verify that the installation position of the droplet eliminator is correct.
• Check the velocity of air passing through the droplet eliminator.

Maintenance of cooler with/without droplet eliminator
ELECTRICAL HAZARD, DANGER FROM ROTATING UNIT PARTS AND
SHARP EDGES! OBSERVE PERSONAL PROTECTION MEASURES.
In doing so, be sure to observe the safety information on page 24 and page 25.
The following maintenance steps must be carried out:
• Check for tightness and for possible contamination on the air side.
• If there is a risk of frost, also check the safety devices regularly, or take appropriate
precautionary measures such as draining the equipment or adding antifreeze.
• Check that pipe connections and mountings are secure.
• Clean air side as necessary (blow through heat exchanger using compressed air or low
pressure water).
• Bleed.
• Clean condensate tray and condensate drain.
• Check siphon, top up as necessary.
• Clean droplet eliminator with descaling spray.
