3. Run DOSGEN (DOS remote image file GENeration) to generate
NET$DOS.SYS.
A. Find the DOSGEN utility located in SYS:SYSTEM
B. Run the DOSGEN utility:
F:\LOGIN>\SYSTEM\DOSGEN A:
The DOSGEN function creates an image file called NET$DOS.SYS
(a unique name) in the LOGIN directory. This is a copy of the files on
the bootable diskette.
4. Copy the AUTOEXEC.BAT file from the boot diskette in drive A
into the SYS:LOGIN directory and the default directory which is
specified in the user’s login script.
Creating multiple remote boot image files
1. Boot a workstation from the floppy or hard disk and log in as
SUPERVISOR
2. Insert the bootable diskette into drive A. The bootable diskette
must
include AUTOEXEC.BAT, driver and shell files. These
should include; LSL, RPLODI, ETHER16, IPXODI, and
NETX. (NET.CFG is optional)
3. Give the AUTOEXEC.BAT file a unique name such as a .BAT
file extension. e.g. the user name of the workstation is Vicky, then
the batch file should be called Vicky.Bat.
