Enter a user name, then enter and confirm a password for that user. You
must
enter a password.
Note
Be sure to note the passwords you enter; they won’t appear anywhere on-
screen in the Security Manager. Security passwords are case-sensitive.

Select a Privilege Level from the drop-down menu. (See “Understanding Access
Privilege Levels” on page 87 for more information.)

The user appears in the Security Manager.

Continue adding users as required for your IP SAN.
Modifying a User’s Information
To change a user’s name or password:

Open the Security Manager (see page 88).

Select the user’s name, then click
Modify user
. (Alternatively, double-click the
user’s name.)
The User Properties window opens.

Modify the user’s information as required, then click
Modify
.
Note

Removing a User from the Security Manager
You can remove any user from the Security Manager. (At least one user with
Administrator-level privileges must remain.) Once a user has been deleted, he or
she no longer has access to your IP SAN through Adaptec Storage Manager.
To remove a recipient from the Security Manager:

Open the Security Manager. (See page 88.)

Select the user’s name, then click
Delete user
.

Click
Yes
to confirm the deletion.
The recipient is removed from the Security Manager and no longer has access
your IP SAN through Adaptec Storage Manager.
