To rebuild your hard drive, do the following:
1.
Power up your Acer system.
2.
When prompted (after memory testing completes), press CTRL + ALT + ESC to
enter CMOS setup.
3.
Insert the Acer Resource CD in your CD-ROM drive.
4.
At the CMOS Setup screen select Basic Configuration, then press ENTER.
5.
Select the Boot Options section, and change the Boot Sequence to the following
order:

[Floppy Disk]

[Hard Disk]
6.
Press ESC twice. When prompted, ‘Do you want to save CMOS data?’, select [Yes],
then press ENTER. The system will reboot from the CD-ROM.
7.
After booting from the CD-ROM, you will see the Acer CPR options displayed. Select
Rebuild Drive and follow the onscreen instructions.
8.
When prompted, use the DS number (DS.xxxxx.xxx) found on a label located on the
lower right side of your system chassis, to select the correct software installations.
9.
After you complete rebuilding your hard disk drive, remove your Acer Resource CD
and repeat steps 2, 4, 5, and 6 to enter CMOS setup. Set the Boot Sequence back to
its original configuration:

10.
After the hard disk rebuilding process completes, remove your Acer Resource CD.
11.
Look for your Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity (COA) ID number on the cover of
your Windows manual. Enter this number when requested.
