5.1 Design
The ABI-CAR E-1200 / E-1200-O welding tractor consists of a housing, a drive with control system, a cross slide, and
a welding torch mount. It is driven by four wheels equally.
The permanent magnet attached inside ensures a solid connection to magnetic surfaces.
The cross slide makes it possible to accurately adjust the position of the welding torch horizontally and vertically.
Since the welding power source is directly connected to the welding tractor, the tractor starts the arc as soon as it begins
moving forward.
5.1.1 Pendulum function (oscillator) (with ABI-CAR E-1200-O only)
The pendulum (oscillator) attached to the
ABI-CAR E-1200-O welding tractor makes it possible for the welding torch
to oscillate during operation. Parameters can be configured for this (pendulum speed, angle of the pendulum,
delay time during welding).
5.2 How the welding tractor moves
The welding tractor can be quickly and easily positioned to accommodate the seam to be welded. The welding tractor is
moved by either pressure applied to the guide rollers
(Fig. 2) or it is moved along guide rails that can be purchased
separately.
In general, it is possible to use the ABI-CAR E-1200 / E-1200-O welding tractor for vertical welding, however a rail system
and a weight safety device are required. These items can be purchased separately.
