Step 12 – Add Salt to Brine Tank and Fill with Water
1.
Add 3 bags (150 lbs.) of salt
pellets or rock salt.
2.
Fill brine tank with approximately
5 gallons of water.
Step 10 – Connect Water Softener to Home Water Line
1.
Connect your home water line to
the input port of the Fleck valve labeled
with ‘IN’ and an arrow pointing toward
the valve.
2.
Connect the opposite port with
arrow pointing away from valve to the
home’s incoming water line labeled
‘OUT’.
Optional water connectors available.
Step 11 – Connect to Water Softener to Power Source
1.
Plug in the Fleck 5810 to a power
receptacle. Your power source should
be less than 9’6” feet in distance from the
Fleck valve.
2.
Crack open bypass valves (IN & OUT
sides) to begin filling tank. You will hear
water filling. After a few minutes you will
hear it quiet down. At this point you can
open valves all the way.
4.
Find nearest faucet and open cold water
to let air escape from the water line. Let
run for 5 to 10 minutes until clear.
**Note during normal operations it is normal for the water level
to be anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 full of water, depending on the
salt level at the time of regeneration.
