Standard Lug

 - If the last operation 

performed was crimping a standard 
connector, the display will indicate 
"Standard Lug" along with the size and type 
of connector.

The display indicates the 
type and size. Additional crimps will 
continue to be logged without a S/N, along 
with the Tool ID, final dimension, final 
pressure, date/time code, and pass/fail until 
a new connector is scanned or manually 
entered.

5.3 Back up release valve

•  Before opening the head during an incomplete 

crimp cycle, first: press and hold the backup 
release valve.

6.0 Maintenance

6.1 WARNING

•  Always unplug the charger and remove the 

battery pack from the charger or tool before 
performing any maintenance. Never 
disassemble the tool, battery pack or charger. 
Contact an ABB tool service for ALL repairs.

•  Always remove battery pack before changing or 

removing accessories. Only use accessories 
specifically recommended for this tool. 

6.2 To replace coin cell battery

1) Remove battery pack.
2) Remove screw and open battery door.
3) Remove old battery, keep it away from children, 

and dispose of it properly.

4) Insert new battery (3V CR2032), positive side 

facing up.

5) Close battery door and tighten screw securely.
6) After changing internal battery, reset internal 

Tool Time to current UTC time to support 
continued accurate date/time reporting.  Set 
tool time using settings menu of Smart® Tool + 
mobile application.

6.3 Maintaining the tool

•  Follow a regular maintenance program. In the 

event of undue noise, misalignment or binding 
of moving parts, breakage of parts, or any 
other condition that may affect the tool 
operation, return the tool, battery pack, and 

charger to ABB Service for repair.

•  If the tool does not start or operate at full 

power with a fully charged battery pack, clean 
the contacts on the battery pack. If the tool still 
does not start or operate at full power, return 
the tool, charger and battery pack, to ABB tool 
service for repairs.

6.4 Cleaning

•  Keep vents free of dust and debris.
•  Keep handles clean, dry and free of oil or 

grease. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to 
clean.  Other cleaning agents and solvents are 
harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. 

•  Never use flammable or combustible solvents 

such as gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, 
paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, 
ammonia and household detergents 
containing ammonia around tools.

6.5 Service and repairs

•  Power tool, battery pack and charger must be 

serviced by manufacturer or authorized service 
provider.
