Circuit breaker failure protection CCBRBRF1 is initiated via the
START
input by a
number of different protection functions available in the relay. The breaker failure
protection function offers different operating modes associated with the circuit
breaker position and the measured phase and residual currents.
The circuit breaker failure protection function has two operating outputs:
TRRET
and
TRBU
. The
TRRET
operating output is used for retripping its own breaker through
TRPPTRC2_TRIP. The
TRBU
output gives a backup trip to the breaker feeding
upstream. For this purpose, the
TRBU
operating output signal is connected to the
binary output X100:PO2. In addition,
TRBU
operating output is also used to trip field
excitation circuit breaker through TRPPTRC6_TRIP_FIELD EXCITATION.
