Block Diagram of the FSM4000 with PROFIBUS PA Communication
The diagram is presented as a function block diagram showing the blocks available in the FSM4000.
Acyclically a communication tool or a SPC with Master Class 2 functionality can access all blocks for
configuration.

Physical Block
(Instrument characteristics and
present status)
Contains general specifications about the fieldbus instrument, e.g., the manufac-
turer, the instrument type, version number, etc.
Transducer Block
(Measurement parameters)
Contains all the instrument specific parameters and functions required for the flow
measurements and calculations. The measured and described values are available
in the Transducer-Block - Output Values and can be called by the AI-Block or the
Totalizer-Blocks as channels.
Analog Input Block
(Output of measured values and sta-
tus)
The Channel-Selector is utilized by the user to select the relevant measured values
(Q volume flowrate), internal flow totalizer (forward, reverse, difference). The values
can be read acyclically from the Transducer-Block using the appropriate Index.
Totalizer Block 1+2
Here acyclically the totalizer value can be checked /changed using the PROFIBUS
PA-DTM in SMART-VISION . The totalizer can be reset cyclically.

Information!
1. A detailed description of the Blocks/Parameters may be found in the separate "Data Link Description
PROFIBUS PA" for FSM4000 (Part No. D184B093U30). This is contained on the CD included with the
shipment.
2. Configure acyclically over the PROFIBUS PA-DTM in the FSM4000.
