Remedy Cause Fault indication/Fault
Check connections. Let equipment
cool. Chopper or resistor overheated. Fault indication relay output
switches off the main power or gives
a fault indication to an overriding
control system.
Check that enable input is on. No enable input received by chop-
per control board.
Check power cables and resistor. Short circuit in power cables or res-
istor.
Contact local ABB representative. Chopper control board failure.
Chopper damaged; it is not able to
disconnect resistor from intermedi-
ate circuit.
Check voltage setting. Chopper voltage setting too high.
Inverter overvoltage control is on. Chopper does not function.
Check parameters of all inverters.
Check that enable input is on.
Check voltage setting. Chopper voltage setting too low. Chopper starts to function at too low
a DC voltage.
Check voltage setting. Chopper voltage setting too high. Inverter trips on fault 3210 DC link
overvoltage .
Check parameters of all inverters.
Check duty cycle and resistor cool-
ing. The maximum brake cycle ex-
ceeded or resistor cooling insuffi-
cient. Brake resistor or chopper overheats.
Make sure that voltage setting is
correct and jumper is properly in
place. Chopper voltage setting incorrect or
jumper missing.
