4.5 Reset and Power-up Sequence
A power sequencer monitors the backplane supply voltages and will shut down the
on-board power supplies if the backplane supplies are not within specified limits.
Once the backplane supplies are within specification, the SBC329 transitions through
its sleep states (S5 to S0) before finally powering up all on-board supplies and
executing BIOS POST (Power-On Self-Test). The POST status is indicated on LEDs
is lit when the backplane and all on-board
supplies are within specification. A
is in a sleep state (S3 to S5).
When the backplane SYSRESET~ signal is active, if the SBC329 is not the System
Controller, it enters a sleep state and remains there until the SYSRESET~ signal is
de-asserted. It is normal to see the Power Good LED (DS407) turn off when the
SYSRESET~ signal is asserted.
Assuming the backplane SYSRESET~ signal is not active, at the end of the
reset/power-up sequence, the SBC329 may (depending on whether BIT is available
and its configuration) enter the BIOS Setup utility. This is described below.
