17.11 Monitoring
Keys
A monitoring key (or MNS key) is a key that allows you to monitor and
answer calls to other extensions, as well as make calls to the monitored
extension.
Note:
MNS keys are programmed as a shortcut keys by the system
administrator.
The monitoring feature is especially useful in Boss-Secretary applica-

You answer a call to an monitored extension by pressing the shortcut
key which the extension has been programmed to.
The shortcut displays one of the following status indications:
•
The indicator lamp is off:
The monitored extension is free.
•
The indicator lamp is flashing fast:
The monitored extension has
an incoming call waiting to be answered.
•
The indicator lamp is on
: The monitored extension is busy.
•
The indicator lamp is flashing slowly
: The monitored extension
is put on hold.
Note:
When you log on to another IP phone, all monitoring keys are
moved automatically to the other telephone.
For information on how to edit a shortcut key, see 14.4.2 Editing an MNS
