To reduce the risk of water leakage or flooding and to ensure optimal filter performance:
•
Change the disposable filter cartridge every 6 months or sooner if you observe a
noticeable reduction in water flow rate.
•
Failure to replace the disposable filter cartridge at recommended intervals may lead to
reduced filter performance and cracks in the filter housing, causing water leakage or flooding.
•
This entire system is not intended to be used for more than two (2) years.

Installation Procedure
Note: Read instructions all the way through before attempting to install the filter system.
Observe all installation precautions.
Filter System Assembly:
1. Turn off incoming water supply.
2. Unscrew sump from filter head and set aside. Mount bracket onto filter head. Use mounting
holes provided to mount the system to a wall or support structure.
3. Install a shut-off valve on the incoming cold water supply line.
4. Connect the incoming cold water supply to the filter system’s inlet water connection. The
filter system has 1" or 1 1/2" NPT ports depending on the model.
5. Connect the outlet port of the system to the outlet water line.
6. Remove o-ring from sump, apply food grade lubricant (included in box) to the o-ring and
reposition onto sump.
7. Place cartridge in sump and screw the sump into the filter head, slowly turning the sump by
hand while maintaining vertical alignment and a constant upward pressure. The sump should
thread fully into the filter head; if any external sump threads are exposed after tightening,
disassemble and repeat steps 6-7. Then use the supplied wrench to apply a light snug fit.
8. Slowly turn on incoming water supply. Pressurize system. Check for leaks. Relubricate
o-ring or retighten connections if necessary.
9. Flush at least 10.5 gallons through system. System is now ready for service.
Cartridge Replacement Instructions
The CFS22 series systems are designed to use only 3M replacement cartridges (specified on
Pg. 4). Use of housings and replacement cartridges other than those specified may seriously
compromise water quality and/or cartridge life.
1. Turn off incoming water supply.
2. Open the pressure relief vent on the filter head.
3. Unscrew sump from filter head. Empty water from sump and dispose of spent cartridge.
4. Clean and inspect all components including the o-ring seal. Lubricate o-ring seals with a
light coating of food grade lubricant (available in spare part kit). Replace o-ring seal if there
is visible damage.
5. Place new cartridge in sump and screw the sump into the filter head, slowly turning the sump
by hand while maintaining vertical alignment and a constant upward pressure. The sump should
thread fully into the filter head; if any external sump threads are exposed after tightening,
disassemble and repeat steps 4-5. Then use the supplied wrench to apply a light snug fit.
NOTICE: Overtightening could result in the housing cracking and causing water leakage or
flooding.
6. Slowly turn on incoming water supply.
7. Ensure the pressure relief vent on the filter head is open, and wait for air to purge. Screw in
the pressure relief vent and tighten. Check for leaks.
8. Flush at least 10.5 gallons through system.
