Configuring TCP/IP Settings
You can use the TCP/IP dialog to view and configure the
TCP/IP settings on your computer. The information in this
dialog is entered automatically and is used to identify your
Primary computer over a network. When you perform a local
HotSync operation, you transfer this information to your Palm
III organizer.
If you want to expedite the network HotSync operation, you can
enter your Primary computer’s Subnet Mask value.
Be sure to consult your network System Administrator before
changing any of these settings.
To view and configure TCP/IP settings on your computer:
1.
In the Setup dialog, click the TCP/IP Settings button to
open the TCP/IP Settings dialog.
2.
View or change any of the following settings:
Primary
computer
Name
Represents the host name of your computer.
This information comes from the host name
entered in the TCP/IP configuration in the
Windows Network control panel.
Primary
computer
Address
Defines the IP address of your Primary
computer. This information comes from the
IP address entered in the TCP/IP
configuration in the Windows Network
control panel.
