Adding a DNS Number
If your network requires a DNS number and you have not
entered that information in the Details settings of Network
preferences, it will only appear that you have successfully
logged on to your network. When you try to perform a network
HotSync operation, the connection will fail. If this occurs, try
adding a DNS number. Ask your System Administrator for the
right Primary and Secondary DNS IP numbers to use.

If you have a problem using network HotSync software with
your Palm III connected organizer, first consult with your
network System Administrator and review the following:

The “Troubleshooting” section in this appendix
■
The README file and HelpNotes located in the folder
where you installed the Palm Desktop software on your
computer (or on your installation CD)
■
The Palm Desktop software Online Help
■
The most recent Palm III organizer HelpNotes on your
regional web site
■
The special Network HotSync Help file (This Windows
Help file contains technical information for your network
System Administrator and is available on the Palm web site:
http://www.palm.com.)
For further assistance, you can contact your regional technical
support office by e-mail, phone or fax. See the Basic Handbook for
the Palm III Organizer for contact information. Before requesting
support, please experiment a bit to reproduce and isolate the
problem. When you do contact support, please be ready to
provide the following information:

The version of Windows you are using
■
The actual error message or state you are experiencing
■
The steps you take to reproduce the problem
