Guidelines
Consider the following guidelines when designing a dependable and
scalable AppleTalk network:

All AppleTalk routers on the same network segment must have the
same configuration. This means all seed routers must be configured
with matching:
■
Network ranges.
■
Default zones.
■
Zone lists.
If a configuration mismatch occurs between routers on the same
segment, then unpredictable behavior may result. For example, zones
may fail to show up in Chooser, and AppleTalk services may become
inaccessible.
■
If you are connecting your system’s AppleTalk Phase 2 routing
interface to an AppleTalk Phase 1 network, follow these guidelines:
■
Specify a network range of 1 (for example,
22-22
).
■
The network can belong to only one zone.
