6.7.2 Upload System Firmware using FTP
To transfer the firmware, follow the instructions as shown in the following screen (Menu 24.7.1 using
Telnet). See also the FTP example that follows.

Using the FTP Command from the DOS Prompt
Use
put
to transfer files from the workstation to the Prestige. E.g.,
put p642M.bin ras
transfers the
firmware on your computer (p642M.bin) to the Prestige and renames it “ras”. Similarly
put p642M.rom
rom
transfers the configuration file on your computer (p642M.rom) to the Prestige and renames it “rom”.
Type
quit
to exit the ftp prompt.

Menu 24.7.1 – System Maintenance – Upload System Firmware
To upload the system firmware, follow the procedure below:
1. Launch the FTP client on your workstation.
1. Type “open” and the IP address of your system. Then type “root” and
your SMT password as requested.

Type “put firmwarefilename ras” where “firmwarefilename” is the name
of your firmware upgrade file on your workstation and “ras” is the
remote file name on the system.

The system reboots automatically after a successful firmware upload.

client program. For details on uploading system firmware using TFTP (note
that you must remain on this menu to upload system firmware using TFTP),
please see your manual.
