A T T E N T I O N
Avoid material damage!
Always observe the correct plug-in sequence when charging: Always
insert the charging plug into the battery first. Then plug the mains
plug into the mains socket!
The battery must be charged in a temperature range between 10°C and 30°C.
Charging the battery when it is removed from the bike generally leads to a slightly longer
battery life, as the heat generated during the charging process can be more easily re-
leased into the air by the battery.
You can charge your battery in two ways: With the battery installed in the bike frame or with the bat-
tery removed from the bike frame.
Charging with battery on bike
You can charge the battery directly at the charging socket of the battery without having to remove it
from the bike. You will find the charging socket for this at the lower end on the left side (as seen in
riding direction) of your battery behind a rubber cover.
Charging with battery removed from bike
Proceed as follows to charge the battery:
-
Remove the battery from the holder (see 13 Using the bike / Installing and removing the bat-
tery on p. 38)
-
Make sure that the battery has no visible signs of damage, e.g. a broken casing.
-
Place the battery on a non-flammable surface, e.g. concrete or tiled floor, for charging.
-
Observe and follow the instructions in the charger manual if supplied separately.
-
Insert the coaxial plug of the charger into the socket provided on the battery.
-
Plug the mains plug of the charger into a 230 V, 50 Hz mains plug socket. The charging light
on the charger lights up red. The charging process takes about 5-6 hours. When the charging
light is green, the battery is charged.
-
Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket.
-
Pull the coaxial plug out of the socket of the battery.
-
Put the battery back in the holder
