Disc brakes 

 

 

 

Item No. 

Designation / description 

1 

Mounting bolts: These bolts are used to install the brake calliper on the brake 
calliper mounting 

2 

Adjusting screw This screw is used to adjust the brake pressure and the fixed 
brake pad 

3 

Brake cable mounting bolt: Fixes the brake cable to the brake arm and serves 
for rough adjustment of the brake force 

4 

Brake cable: Pulling the cable ensures that the moving brake pad is pressed 
against the brake disc when the brake lever is pulled 

5 

Brake cable tension adjusting nut: This adjusting nut is used to adjust the 
moving brake pad and the brake pressure. 

 

Mechanical disc brakes are installed on the front and rear wheels. With mechanical disc 
brakes, a moving brake pad is pressed against the brake disc from one side via a cable to 
brake the wheel. The brake pads are normally made of sintered metal and are subject to 
wear. You operate the brakes via the brake levers mounted on the handlebars.
