Installing the Worktable

Prerequisites:
l
Make sure that the work platform is firm enough to support the enclosure and
cables. It is better to allow less people to walk around to avoid touching cables
connected to the router.
l
There is no barrier on or near the work platform.
l
Make sure that the enclosure to be installed is ready and has been carried to work
platform nearby for handling.
l
Check if there are gaskets at the bottom of the equipment; if not, take out the
gaskets in the accessory bag and install them with screws.

After that, lift the enclosure to a position a little higher than the level of work platform
and put the enclosure onto the work platform. Leave 10cm space at least on both right
and left enclosure sides to provide good heat dissipation and ventilation; leave 20cm
distance at least behind the enclosure for laying of power cable and other cables.

5.1 Installing the Board
ZXR10 ZSR provides three enclosure models: 1U, 2U and 3U.
1.
As for 1U enclosure, there are two slots for line interface card (LIC). The slot numbers
are LIC1 and LIC2 from top to down.
2.
As for 2U enclosure, there are four slots for LIC. The slot numbers are LIC1-LIC4 in
sequence of from left to right and from top to down.
3.
As for 3U enclosure, there are eight slots for LIC. The slot numbers are LIC1-LIC8 in
sequence of from left to right and from top to down. There are obvious identifiers in
the middle of two columns of slots for corresponding slot with slot number.
To install cards, perform the following steps:
1.
Wear anti-static hand wreath.
2.
Unpack and take out the card.
3.
Push the card along the sliding rail into the enclosure.
4.
When sliding panel reaches socket on backplane, force ahead to insert card into the
socket.
5.
Screw on fixed screws.
6.
Insert the blank panel into the idle slot.
ZXR10 ZSR router is compatible with partial interface cards of ZXR10 GAR. Among these
cards, the LIC cards whose types end with –R (such as RA-8FE-R) are not applicable to
