If you can’t make voice calls, check the previous
section, “The TA/V.34 or TA will not make calls over
ISDN.” Pay special attention to DNs, SPIDs,
SubAddresses, and call appearances.
If you can’t receive voice calls, check the previous
section, “The TA/V.34 or TA will not receive calls
over ISDN.” Pay special attention to DNs,
SubAddresses, and DN call type assignment.
Note
If sub-addressing is used, make sure
*S1
is set.
Application Failures -
for the TA/V.34 only
Problem:
Terminal or fax application reports ERROR when
opened.
Solution:
Have you selected TA/V.34 (if available) from the list
of modems and ISDN devices supported by your
package? If you cannot, see

If your package doesn’t have a selection for the
TA/V.34, have you added the recommended
initialization strings? See

in Chapter 3.
Some applications require modifications to special files
to work properly with devices not included in the list of
devices supported by the application. Call your
software application company.
Voice Mail -
for the TA/V.34 only
Make sure you are running the voice mail application and your
computer has been left on, as described in your voice mail user
documentation.
Problem:
You are unable to play back messages.
Solution:
Have you selected the intended playback device: the
ISDN handset or your PC’s sound card or speakers? Is
