To set up phone numbers:
1. Open Dial-Up Networking under My Computer .
2. Click New .
3. Name the connection, for example, ISDN Connection to Internet .
4. Click Next .
5. Fill in the Server box according to your needs. Click Next .
6. Enter the phone number.
For ML-PPP
: Since ML-PPP uses two phone numbers to set up
connections on both B-channels, enter the two phone numbers
separated by an ampersand “&.” For example, if your provider’s
two phone numbers are 555-1234 and 555-2345, you would
enter:
5551234 & 5552345
Note that if both numbers are the same you need to enter the same
number twice:
5551234 & 5551234
Note also that if you must make a long distance call for your
connection, both numbers must include the “1” prefix, and if the
first number requires an area code, so must the second. For
example:
16175551234 & 16175552345
7. Click Next , then Finish .
8. Back in the Dial-Up Networking box click More and select Edit
entry and modem properties from the menu.
9. Under the Basic tab in the Edit Phonebook Entry box select
TA/V.34 Internal Modem (PnP) or TA Internal (PnP) and click
Configure .
10. Under Initial speed select 115200 from the list box. Click OK .
11. In the Server tab under Dial-up server type select the
appropriate type. For most ISPs this will be PPP: Windows 95,
Windows NT 3.5, Internet . Check with your provider to be
sure.
