Make sure that there is good metal-metal contact between the work clamp and workpiece.
The clamping position of the work clamp should be as close to the cutting position as
possible in order to obtain optimal cutting quality.
Never clamp the metal part to be cut with the work clamp.
Figure 3-6: Cutting process
After the machine is powered on, if either of the two LEDs does not illuminate, the gas pressure
indicates that the gas pressure is within the normal range, the current control knob is
appropriately set, and the work clamp is reliably connected, it indicates that the cutting system is
well prepared and ready for normal use.
3.5 Adjustment of the pilot arc gas
The pilot arc gas of I-PLAS60 is appropriately set when leaving factory, and it is unnecessary for
users to adjust it any more. The filter regulator is shown as below figure.
Figure 3-7: Filter regulator
If the operator wants to adjust the pilot arc gas according to his/her own cutting habit, he/she
only needs to open the upper cover and adjust the regulator marked in the above figure to get
the proper pilot arc gas pressure. If the working gas pressure reaches 6~7 times the atmospheric
pressure, the working gas pressure will be normal. However, if the pilot arc is unstable and
appears green, it indicates that the pilot arc gas pressure is overly low, which will cause damage
of the wearing parts of the cutting torch. In this condition, adjust the regulator with a slotted
screwdriver until the pilot arc appears normal. If the pilot arc snaps and is unstable, it indicates
that the pilot arc gas pressure is overly high. In this condition, adjust the regulator
counterclockwise with a slotted screwdriver until the pilot arc appears normal.
