8.9 DRYER SHUT-DOWN SEQUENCE
The following procedures must be followed to correctly terminate
dryer operation:
NOTE: The ZPB dryer must remain pressurized during the
Shut-Down Sequence.
DRYERS IN STANDARD NEMA 1 CONFIGURATION -
- Disconnect dryer Power Cord from electric supply. The dryer
Operating Sequence will halt and the valves will assume
default position.
- When in Shut-Down state, no compressed air should be
allowed to
fl
ow through the dryer. The dryer must be isolated
from the air system with cut-o
ff
or bypass valves.
DRYERS IN OPTIONAL NEMA 4 CONFIGURATION -
- Press the red “OFF” button to de-activate the dryer operating
sequence and to de-energize the control valves. The main
fl
ow valves will be positioned to the default position:
a. The Purge Valve will close
b. The Regenerating Tower will re-pressurize
c. The main Inlet Flow Valves will open
The system must remain pressurized in order for the main
fl
ow valves on the dryer to revert to the default position.
- The status line in the Home screen will display “OFF”.
- The system will remain pressurized at all times. The dryer
does not contain any provisions to permit a system bleed
down.
-
System Bleed Down:
The operating sequence must
be stopped by pressing the “OFF” button before the
compressed air system is de-pressurized. This will allow the
main
fl
ow valves to return to the default position and permit
full de-pressurization of the system.
- The red “OFF” button only de-activates the dryer operating
sequence - electric power will remain live within the dryer
Main Panel.
