6.5 Basic kit laser safety Rev. 2
The basic kit laser safety Rev. 2 includes an eyepiece shutter (factory-installed or retrofitted by service
personnel), a laser safety board for the stand, a distribution box and sticker labels.
The distribution box for laser safety (Fig. 6-6/

) must be connected to the rear of the stand using a 15-pin
sub-D connector (Fig. 6-6/ 5 ) (see Fig. 6-7 on page 99) .
The four ports of the distribution box (Fig. 6-6/

and
4
) are used to connect the following components:

Type A connection: Slider Laser TIRF, remote switch for laser mode, laser manipulation slider
−
Type B connection: Laser safety cover, laser safety incubators, Laser Bench Tower or Rack

Remote Interlock: An additional door switch (Fig. 6-6/ 1 ) can be connected via this link. This
connection is provided with a factory-installed crossover connector.
