Mounting the Laser Safety Cover for Reflected Light Provided for Mechanical and
Scanning Stages
The laser safety cover for reflected light (432319-9902-000) can be used in combination with different
microscope stages. To check compatibility, please see the table in Section 2.9.1 on page 39. All universal
mounting frames K as well as mounting frames K for specimen slides (451341-0000-000) are suitable for
being inserted into the mechanical and scanning stages. Condensers of NA 0.55 and NA 0.35 may be
used. Fig. 2-7 (page 30) shows the components of the laser safety cover.
•
Screw the supplied interlock magnet (Fig. 3-3/
5
) into the subframe (Fig. 3-3/
7
).
•
Place the cover frame (Fig. 3-3/
3
) over the subframe.
•
Screw the cover frame (Fig. 3-3/
3)
and the
subframe (Fig. 3-3
) to the mechanical or scanning stage
6
) using the two Allen screws (Fig. 3-3/
2
, SW 2.5).
•
Insert the mounting frame K into the mechanical or scanning stage.
•
Put the opaque cover plate (Fig. 3-3/
1
) on the mounting frame (Fig. 3-3/
3
).
•
Connect the laser safety cable (Fig. 3-3/
4
) to the distribution box for laser safety.
The laser shutter only opens if the opaque cover is correctly applied during operation when the
laser operation mode of the Laser TIRF imaging system is activated (
Active
LED is lit) and if all
interlock connections are closed (
Safe
LED lit).
