Adjustment:
1)
Switch the magnification changer to its free-
passage position (position 1).
2)
Align OPMI® with the test object (alignment
template enclosed) and focus the microscope
on it.
3)
Move and tilt the illumination module in such a
way that the illuminated field is radially
centered to within ± 1 mm relative to the outer
reference circle.

Tighten screws (

) and secure them in position
by applying blue threadlocker to their heads.
5)
If the edge of the illumination field is out of
focus, loosen the set screw (

) and shift the
light guide sleeve (

) to obtain correct focus.

Tighten set screw (

7)
Re-attach cover (
Note
In case of a not adjustable offset in vertical
direction, shims must be inserted between
illumination unit and OPMI body at the two
upper or lower screws (

) depend on the
offset direction (see drawing OPMI® pico
Basis –1095-102).

Note
There are two versions of illumination units existing.
One version (no. 1053-917) without UV safety filter for OPMI® pico and the
other version (no. 1153-460) with UV safety filter for OPMI® pico i (ophthalmic version).
For easy differentiation between the two versions, the front surface of the light guide sleeve
is anodized
black
for the unit
without safety filter
and
anodized to
natural aluminium
for the unit with
safety filter
When installing an illumination unit in an OPMI® pico i, make sure, to use the version
1153-460 (with safety filter) as otherwise damage to the patient`s eye is possible.
